Things to do...

Shannon Region TrailsThe Shannon Region Trails
is a Shannon Development-led initiative establishing the Shannon Region as a destination for walking, cycling, water based and other outdoor activity pursuits.

...and Places to see

The Aillwee Cave is located a couple of miles outside of Ballyvaughan. The one ticket will gain you access to the cave, the Burren Bird of Prey Centre and The Wood and Mountain Trail. The cave is open all year round.

The Burren Centre in Kilfenora may be a good start before you plan your tour of the Burren. A film by world renowned environmentalist Eamon de Buitlear and a visit to the Centre's Exhibition will give you some idea about this unique area.

Caherconnell Stone Fort is situated 1km south of Poulnabrone dolmen in the heart of the Burren. It offers you the opportunity to visit an exceptionally well preserved example of the stone forts (ring forts), which are to be found in the Burren.

The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre opened in February 2007.
There is no charge to see the cliffs, but if you arrive by car you will be charged for parking and there is a charge into the ATLANTIC EDGE interpretive centre.
